The calculator divides the total room cost (rate per night times number of nights) by the number of people sharing that room.
Does the number of nights or the number of rooms matter more?+
Both matter: total cost scales with nights booked, but the per-person figure also depends on how many people split each room, so a cheaper room split fewer ways can cost more per person than an expensive room split many ways.
How should I handle mandatory hotel fees like resort fees or taxes?+
Add them to the nightly rate before dividing, since these fees typically apply per room per night regardless of occupancy and should be shared just like the base rate.
What if rooms have different occupancy levels within a group?+
Calculate each room's per-person cost separately, since a double room split two ways and a single room booked alone will have very different per-person costs even at the same nightly rate.
