Formula
Pallets = max(⌊L÷l⌋ × ⌊W÷w⌋, ⌊L÷w⌋ × ⌊W÷l⌋)= 20
Note
This is a simplified model using standard logistics formulas; real-world contracts, carrier rules, and regulations may add further terms.

What does this calculator estimate?+
How many standard pallets of a given footprint can fit inside a shipping container of a given size, based purely on floor-space stacking, not weight limits.
What inputs are needed?+
The container's internal length and width, and the pallet's footprint dimensions (commonly 120×100 cm or 48×40 in). Some versions also account for orientation (pallets turned 90 degrees) to maximize fit.
Why might the real-world number differ from the calculated one?+
The calculator assumes ideal, gap-free floor placement. In practice, door swing clearance, load securing straps, and uneven pallet sizes can reduce the number that actually fits versus the theoretical maximum.
Does rotating pallets 90 degrees change the count?+
Yes — for many standard container widths, turning pallets sideways changes how many fit per row, which is why some calculators show both orientations and let you pick the better yield.
Does this account for stacking pallets on top of each other?+
Only if the calculator explicitly includes a stacking height factor; otherwise it typically gives a single-layer floor count, and you'd multiply by the number of stackable layers separately if your cargo and container height allow it.
