Game math relationship
Formula
hours = (1 ÷ p) ÷ runs per hour= 33.333333333333
Note
This is a simplified model: it applies the standard probability or game-math formula to the numbers you entered. Real games add pity systems, drop-rate tiers, rounding, server-side variance and balance patches, so treat the result as an estimate rather than a guarantee.

How is farming time estimated for a specific item?+
The calculator multiplies the expected number of attempts needed (based on the item's drop rate) by the average time it takes to complete one attempt or run, giving a total time estimate in hours or minutes.
Why should I use expected attempts rather than the theoretical minimum?+
The theoretical minimum (one successful attempt) essentially never reflects reality for anything but a guaranteed drop; expected attempts (1 divided by drop rate) accounts for the actual statistical average number of tries needed, giving a realistic time estimate.
How does farming efficiency (kills per hour, runs per hour) affect the estimate?+
A higher farming efficiency directly reduces total time needed for the same number of expected attempts, so optimizing your route, gear, or method to increase attempts per hour is often more impactful than trying to improve the drop rate itself, which you usually can't control.
Should I plan around the average time or the worst-case time?+
Plan around the average for a realistic expectation, but be mentally prepared for it to take meaningfully longer, since drop-based farming has high variance — a real session can easily run well past the statistical average due to bad luck.
Does stacking drop-rate boosts change the farming time proportionally?+
Yes, roughly — a boost that doubles your drop rate roughly halves your expected attempts and therefore your expected farming time, though remember boosts typically apply multiplicatively to the base rate, not by simply adding percentage points.
