Creator economy relationship
Formula
Engagement rate = (likes + comments + shares + saves) ÷ followers × 100= 555
Note
This is a simplified model: it applies the counts, rates, prices and fees you enter to plain arithmetic. Every platform cut, payment fee, CPM, royalty per play and commission rate is a value you supply, because no platform's revenue share, advertising rate or payout rate is fixed: they change over time and differ by country, contract, category, audience and season. Engagement, open, click and unsubscribe rates are the standard definitions, but each platform and email tool counts interactions, reach, delivered mail and opens differently, so a rate is only comparable against numbers counted the same way; image-blocking and privacy features in particular make open rates unreliable. Revenue estimates ignore taxes, withholding, currency conversion, refunds, chargebacks, invalid traffic, minimum payout thresholds and payment delays. The churn projection assumes a constant monthly churn rate and a constant number of new subscribers, which real audiences never follow. Treat every figure as a rough planning estimate, not a forecast of what you will be paid, and check your own platform statements and any contract before relying on it. This is not financial, tax or legal advice.

How is engagement rate by followers calculated?+
Add up engagements (likes, comments, shares, saves) on a post, divide by your total follower count, then multiply by 100. A post with 500 engagements and 10,000 followers has a 5% engagement rate.
What's considered a good engagement rate?+
It varies by platform and follower size, but as a rough benchmark, 1-3% is typical for larger accounts, while smaller or niche accounts often see 4-8% or higher, since a smaller, more dedicated audience tends to interact more relative to its size.
Why does engagement rate usually drop as follower count grows?+
Larger audiences are diluted with more passive followers who joined for one viral post or a giveaway, and platform algorithms don't show every post to every follower, so the denominator grows faster than genuine interaction does.
Should I use follower-based or reach-based engagement rate?+
Follower-based is simpler and comparable over time for the same account, but it can be misleading if reach fluctuates a lot due to algorithm changes; reach-based engagement rate (see the related calculator) better reflects how well content performs among the people who actually saw it.
Why do brands care about engagement rate over raw follower count?+
Follower count can be inflated by bots, giveaways, or inactive accounts, while engagement rate reflects how actively an audience actually interacts with content — a stronger signal of real influence and the likely performance of a sponsored post.
